Paul Gomez, Treasurer
| Paul Gomez is Senior Associate of Government Affairs and Advocacy with D&P, where he is responsible for serving as key advisor on legislative issues pertaining to client needs and assisting in minority outreach. Paul brings with him an extensive knowledge of the legislative process and policy development, cultivated during his time as an aid to Representatives Hilda Solis (D-CA), and later Ciro Rodriguez (D-TX). Paul’s portfolio included legislative work on science, technology, welfare, education, immigration and appropriations, among others. He also served as Rep. Rodriguez’s liaison to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), where he worked to integrate veteran’s issues into the caucus platform and initiatives. Prior to his position in Rep. Rodriguez’s office, Paul served as staff assistant and intern coordinator in the office of Congresswoman Hilda Solis (D-CA), where he was able to provide instrumental assistance to the Congresswoman, staff and constituents, due to his knowledge and work in the 32nd Congressional district. A Southern California native, Paul began his professional life in the field of education as the Project Manager of Campus Ministry at Loyola High School of Los Angeles, where he also taught theology and history. During Paul’s tenure, he was instrumental in increasing parental, student and faculty involvement in school-sponsored retreat programs. His move to the East Coast was spurred by his selection as Assistant Dean of Residence and teacher of theology at Georgetown Preparatory in Bethesda, Maryland, a position he held prior to working on Capitol Hill. Paul was formerly an associate at Mickey Ibarra & Associates, where he provided strategic planning support to the firm’s clients in the areas of legislative and governmental affairs. He is a graduate of Marquette University and is currently working on a Masters Degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University. |
