  • Do I have to be a registered lobbyist to join HLA?
    No. HLA’s membership is open to all individuals who self-identify with or are committed to supporting the Hispanic/Latino community and who have professional responsibilities in the field of government relations and/or public affairs.
  • When does my membership start/end?
    HLA’s membership is calendar year. Membership starts on January 1st and ends on December 31st.
  • I have joined HLA. How do I get involved?
    Attend our events and sign-up for one of our committees — communications, mentorship, professional development, social, diversity and inclusion, and Avanza.
  • Is my HLA membership transferable?
    Individual membership is non-transferable. If a member leaves their organization, the membership goes with them.

  • Are my HLA membership dues tax deductible?
    HLA is a 501(c)(6) organization. Your dues are not deductible as charitable donations but may be tax deductible as a business expense. Please consult your tax adviser or the IRS to determine whether your membership dues are tax deductible.
