Join the Hispanic Lobbyists Association for a coffee chat on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM ET with U.S. Representative Monica De La Cruz (R-TX-15).
Congresswoman De La Cruz is the first Latina and first Republican to represent Texas' 15th Congressional District. The granddaughter of a Mexican farmworker, Rep. De La Cruz was raised by her single mother, Norma, in Brownsville. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Rep. De La Cruz enrolled at La Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México to study Spanish. For over 20 years, the Congresswoman led several successful small businesses in her community, including an insurance agency, which she ran until her election to Congress in 2022.
Rep. De La Cruz serves on the House Agriculture & Financial Services Committees, and is the Ranking Member of the Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development Subcommittee. Come chat with Rep. De La Cruz and learn more about her experiences and perspectives.
