Senator Ruben Gallego was sworn in as Arizona’s U.S. Senator in 2025, becoming the first Latino to represent the state in the Senate. Before that, he served four years in the Arizona House of Representatives and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014. During his decade in the House, Sen. Gallego advocated for working Arizonans, rising to become the highest-ranking Latino on the House Armed Services Committee and working to protect Arizona’s water resources and public lands as a member of the House Natural Resources Committee.
