Representative Adelita Grijalva has dedicated her career to public service, advocacy, and expanding opportunities for communities across Southern Arizona. Before being elected to Congress, she spent more than 25 years working with court-involved youth and their families through Pima County Teen Court, helping connect young people with restorative justice programs and community resources.

Her commitment to public service continued through elected office, serving on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board, where she championed expanded access to preschool, defended bilingual and Mexican-American Studies programs, and advocated for stronger investments in public education. She later became the first Latina to serve as Chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, leading efforts to increase affordable housing, strengthen climate resilience, protect the Sonoran Desert, and launch the county's first free preschool program for low- and middle-income families.
