Rep. Espaillat serves as a member of the influential U.S. House Committee on Appropriations responsible for funding the federal government’s vital activities and is ranking member of the legislative branch subcommittee on the committee. Additionally, Representative Espaillat serves on the House Budget Committee. He is Deputy Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) and is Chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI). Representative Espaillat is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) and is a Senior Whip of the Democratic Caucus. Through his committee assignments and caucus leadership positions, Representative Espaillat helps advance and amplify legislative priorities and accomplishments that aim to improve the lives of families around the nation.

Rep. Espaillat's congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill, and the north-west Bronx.
